01 / The Reason

Why SOMS Exists

The professionals responsible for managing the most dangerous offenders are too often the last to receive quality, relevant, up-to-date training. We built SOMS to end that.

The Old Way

Sales-Pitch Conferences

  • Hours of vendor infomercials and product pitches
  • Self-congratulatory debriefs that teach nothing
  • Instructors who left the field years ago
  • Slides recycled from a decade of outdated case law
  • You leave with a tote bag — not a workflow
The SOMS Way

Built By People Still Doing The Work

  • Every minute is actionable, field-tested instruction
  • Taught by active law enforcement and therapists
  • Real cases, real tools, real results
  • Current case law and technology — not last decade's
  • You leave able to run the work on Monday

Real Resources You Keep — Taught Step-by-Step

Attendees don't just watch a demo. Every free resource is taught hands-on, step-by-step, until you can run it yourself. That includes free access to our investigative software suite.

Choose One · $600 Value Project V.I.P.E.R. Investigative platform · full access

Project V.I.P.E.R. is a modern investigative platform engineered specifically for small units and detective bureaus. With features like case-tracking dashboards, email and warrant parsing, and integrated third-party intelligence like LPRs, Project V.I.P.E.R. delivers the capabilities agencies have always needed but never had.

Choose One · $600 Value Project Oversight Sex offender management software · full access

We created Project Oversight for you. This sex offender management software is designed to handle all your daily tasks of managing your sex offender population — from registration to compliance checks and even multi-jurisdictional sweeps. Best part? It's completely free to attendees. Run it on your Windows PC or straight off a USB drive: all locally, all offline. No fees. Ever.

Included for Every Attendee Project Hindsight Digital triage tool · full access

Trying to keep up with technology is hard, and some of our offenders spend a lot of time trying to hide digital contraband from us. Project Hindsight is designed to help you locate that contraband on Windows computers and external drives such as USBs. Flag evidence, create reports, and let your forensic experts preserve the evidence. This is a true triage tool in every sense of the word — also completely free for attendees.

Every attendee leaves with Project Hindsight. You'll also select one free software license — Project V.I.P.E.R. or Project Oversight, a $600 value at no cost. As a rule of thumb, sworn officers choose V.I.P.E.R., while civilian staff responsible for the registry choose Oversight.

Why SOMS Works

Active in the Field

Every instructor is still doing this work today. They teach what's happening now — not what worked when they retired.

Built on Real Cases

Instruction is drawn from real cases and real workflows — the exact situations you're going to face when you get home.

Actionable & Proven

Everything taught is designed to be used immediately and has already produced results in active investigations.

05 / The Instructors

Meet Your Instructors

Not names on a slide — practitioners who are still in the work. You learn directly from the people setting the standard in the field and the clinic.

What Attendees Say

Feedback straight from the field — probation, ICAC, patrol, and parole professionals who left with something they could use.

A well-rounded sex offender management training. I enjoyed the opportunity to have Dr. Weeks talk about the psyche and clinical diagnoses. I especially liked the compliance section where we discussed the most current and emerging technology that SOs are using. I think this will be the most beneficial in my supervision, and is constantly evolving.
U.S. Federal Probation Virginia
One of the most well put together and thought out courses I've ever attended. Having Dr. Weeks was immensely helpful for the psychology aspect of offenders. The website / PowerPoint were complete and the most useful I've ever seen. The entire week has been informative and applicable and I could not be more appreciative.
Springdale PD Arkansas
This class answered so many questions. I am new to ICAC and sex crimes and no one can give you a straight answer — but this class did just that.
Collinsville PD ICAC
Justin was very informed and knowledgeable. Course was thorough and provided a good base knowledge of dealing with sex offenders. Particularly knowledgeable about the U.S. Probation system.
Federal Probation New York
Such a valuable training. I really appreciated that it didn't just revolve around what to do but also why. The material was taught purposefully and efficiently. This is a topic many of us have to teach ourselves because no one wants to talk about it. I wish I'd had this type of training earlier in my career instead of learning from a burnt-out detective.
Detective Bethlehem, PA
Outstanding training — one of the best I've attended. The presenters were knowledgeable and engaging. Lots of good info for experienced officers and those new to sex offender management.
Captain New Jersey State Parole
The training was informative with real-life applications. I also walked away with tools I can utilize with the sex offenders I currently supervise.
Federal Probation New York
I enjoyed Dr. Weeks' presentation on the psychology of sexual offenders and being introduced to tools that are used by other agencies. I also thought that reviewing different technologies was helpful.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD North Carolina
Both instructors were very informative on their subject matter. You can clearly tell they have a wealth of knowledge and a passion for educating law enforcement and civilians on sex offender management.
Muscogee Nation Oklahoma
The instructors were very clearly spoken and knowledgeable, and the information provided was very beneficial. I especially enjoyed the research and tools available — logging in to access the material and store it for future use. I definitely look forward to taking another course.
DeSoto County Mississippi
The information and insight provided by Dr. Weeks is extremely helpful, and I appreciated the additional material on burnout. The approach taught for maintaining compliance, gathering intelligence, documenting interactions, and utilizing technology is invaluable — those approaches have revolutionized my agency's SOR processes.
